Gary Townsend Sr. - He has had a lifetime of experience in the horse industry. His interest in horses from an early age led him on a quest to become a horseman. Gary Sr. held a R.C.A. (Rodeo Cowboys Association) card for thirteen years. He competed in bareback riding, bull riding, and tie-down calf roping. He was the O.R.A. (Oklahoma Rodeo Assoc.) champion bareback rider in 1967. He earned several R.O.M.'s in reining and calf roping in the AQHA. Gary Sr. is a graduate of Oklahoma State Farrier's College. He specialized in corrective shoeing. He has started and trained horses for many years.
Gary Townsend Jr. - He has been fortunate enough to have been around horses from an early age. At age 12 he started working for a cutting horse trainer loping horses. The next year he was starting two and three year olds on cattle. Gary Jr. continued this throughout high school as well as having a successfull career in showing cutting horses. He was the 1986 G.C.H.A. Youth Champion. He was also in the NCHA Area 18 Top Ten Youth from 1986 through 1989. He won the Area 18 Youth Title in 1989. Gary Jr. also competed in the NHSRA (National High School Rodeo Assoc.) from 1986 to 1989, claiming the State Title in Boys Cutting all four years. He was also a State Finalist in bareback and bullriding. After years of riding in the cutting horse industry, Gary Jr. decided there must be a better method of starting young horses. He started his own training business in 1989.
